Every Ship Ranked
Windrose features a wide variety of ship types, each with unique stats, strengths, and roles. This tier list ranks every player ship by overall performance and usefulness.
Whether you are a solo explorer or a fleet commander, this list will help you decide which ships are worth building.
Ship Tier List
| Tier | Ships | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| S | Galleon, Man o War | Best overall, endgame power |
| A | Brigantine, Frigate | Excellent all-around |
| B | Sloop, Schooner | Good for specific roles |
| C | Raft, Dinghy, Rowboat | Starter or utility only |
S-Tier Ships
Galleon
The king of the seas. The Galleon has massive cargo, incredible firepower, and great durability. It is slow and needs a good crew, but nothing else comes close to its power and versatility.
- Best for: Crews of 3+, combat, trading
- Strengths: Max cannons, huge cargo, very tanky
- Weaknesses: Slow, expensive, needs crew
Man o War
The endgame monster. The Man o War is the largest, most powerful ship in the game. It is basically a floating fortress. Obscenely expensive and requires a massive crew, but absolutely dominant in fleet combat.
- Best for: Endgame, fleet PvP
- Strengths: Highest damage, most HP, fleet command
- Weaknesses: Extremely expensive, huge crew requirement
A-Tier Ships
Brigantine
The most balanced ship in the game. Good speed, good firepower, good cargo, works with 1-3 crew. The do-everything workhorse of Windrose.
Frigate
The Navy workhorse. Fast, well-armed, and surprisingly tough for its size. The best ship hit-for-hit in the mid-game.
B-Tier Ships
Sloop
The starter ship that punches above its weight. Fast, agile, and perfect for solo play. It will never win a stand-up fight against bigger ships, but it can outrun almost anything.
Schooner
The trading specialist. Not great in combat, but has excellent cargo capacity for its size and is surprisingly fast with the wind.
C-Tier and Utility
These ships have their uses but are not general-purpose.
- Raft: Literally the starting vessel. Replace it immediately.
- Dinghy: Small utility boat for going ashore. Not for open ocean.
- Rowboat: Quiet and stealthy. Good for sneaking around but useless in a fight.
How to Choose Your Ship
Do not just pick the S-tier ship. Pick the one that matches how you play.
- Solo player: Sloop or Brigantine
- 2-3 friends: Brigantine or Frigate
- Large crew (4+): Galleon
- Trading focus: Schooner or Galleon
